Luca Galizia
Luca Galizia has been involved in food regulatory and compliance issues at the Italian, EU and international level, with a focus on food additives, food supplements, novel foods and borderline products (e.g., herbal medicinal products, substance-based medical devices, etc.). Examples of projects he has worked on include the assessment of the regulatory status of food ingredients and additives, tailor-made training, legislative monitoring, advice on food trade legislation, import/export and mutual recognition requirements, labelling and advertising campaigns (including health and nutrition claims).
Luca graduated with honors in law from the University of Verona, and obtained the post-graduate master in Innovation Management at CUOA in Altavilla Vicentina. He then furthered his education by attending the Advanced Training Course in Food Law at the University of Eastern Piedmont. Since 2018 he has focused his career on food and sustainability law, offering clients extra-judicial advice, judicial assistance, support in international regulatory affairs, and targeted training. Between June 2022 and August 2023 he was an associate at the international Food and Drug practice at Keller and Heckman LLP.
Prior to joining Keller and Heckman, Luca oversaw the food law and regulatory practices at an Italian law firm. He also co-founded a beverage start-up company, which gives him a unique perspective on supply chain issues and helps him to assist clients in developing overall regulatory schemes and marketing strategies. Along with his Masters in Law, his education includes advanced training in food law and courses in regulatory compliance and management.
